Not-so-close watch
4:03 p.m. — 600 block of Triton Bend
Larceny: A woman reported a $6,000 watch missing from a chest drawer in her home. She hadn’t seen the watch since approximately three weeks prior and since then had a pest control company and a garden tour, during which approximately 500 people toured her residence. There are no suspects.
Street strike
9:20 p.m. — 3400 block of Byron Lane
Property damage: A woman reported she was backing up and struck a street lamp on private property, causing approximately $400 in damage to her car and $300 in damage to the lamp.
Air of suspicion
5:05 p.m. — 800 block of Evergreen Way
Larceny: A woman reported the theft of an inflatable kayak from behind her home underneath an overhang. The thief left a plug that had been removed to deflate the vessel, which was sent to a lab for processing.

5:24 p.m. — 3100 block of Harbourside Drive
Property Damage: A man reported approximately $500 dollars in damage to the rear bumper of his white van. He said he didn’t know how the van was damaged, but that he may have “rubbed a tree” earlier.
Power struggle
6:02 p.m. — 5300 block of GMD
Fraud: A restaurant owner flagged down an officer on patrol to notify him that a man was on the phone claiming to be a representative of FPL and threatening to shut off power if he did not pay $600. The officer took the phone and informed the man that he knew it was a scam, at which point the scammer hung up on him.
Hit and run
10:21 a.m. — 2000 block of Harbourside Drive
Suspicious circumstance: A woman backing out of a parking space reported that a man claimed he backed into her. She offered him her insurance information, but he insisted on calling the police, according to the complainant. After 10 minutes, he rode away. The woman said she’d been told that a man matching his description had acted this way before.
Fishing for trouble
5:23 p.m. — 600 block of Bay Isles Parkway
Trespassing: An officer responded to a complaint of a man fishing in a canal on private property. When the officer made contact, the man admitted he didn’t live in the development and left.

12:38 p.m. — 700 block of Fox Street
Fraud: A man reported several attempts by unknown individuals to apply for credit cards in his name. He was told to report it to the police, who gave him a case number and related information.
