Survey says: Stop calling

1:15 p.m. — 1500 block of Harbor Cay Lane. Harassing Phone Call. A man has been getting three or four phone calls from a political survey group asking for opinions. Police suggested he contact his service provider or go online and block the number.

April 30
Surf’s up

2:51 p.m. — 4100 block of GMD. Rescue. A wave struck a man’s head and knocked him down at the beach. He complained about a loss of hearing in one ear, along with neck and head pain. Firefighter/paramedics transported him to a hospital.

May 2
Unwanted visitors

12:11 a.m. — 6800 block of GMD. Suspicious Circumstance. A woman and her friend were getting ready to go to bed and heard knocking from the second-floor door and the doorbell ringing. They did not answer and later heard the sound of voices and a vehicle starting up and exiting the driveway. Police checked the area around the home and found nothing out of place.

Made from scratch
12:16 p.m. — 2600 block of GMD. Property Damage. A driver was stopped at a red light and scratched her leg, causing her to ease up on the break pedal and strike the vehicle in front of her.

Empty threat
12:19 p.m. — 4700 block of GMD. Welfare Check. A hotel manager called police after a woman took an iPad out of her roommate’s luggage before taking a shuttle to a Bradenton Beach gift shop. The roommate said the woman had threatened to harm herself earlier that morning when they were extremely intoxicated. Police found the woman on Bradenton Beach and determined that she did not want to harm herself.

Memory Problems
4:02 p.m. — 6600 block of GMD. Disturbance. A woman told police she has been married 20 years and has two children ages 22 and 28. Police learned that she has been married for 35 years, her children are 28 and 33, and she and her husband got into an argument about her refusal to take her prescribed medication for age-related memory issues. During the argument, she forgot who her husband was, then started yelling that he did not belong in her house.

Celebrate good times

2:13 a.m. — 2800 block of GMD. Noise. Four men who were reportedly being loud on the beach told police they were in town to celebrate a recent marriage and had been drinking earlier. They apologized, and police escorted them back to their apartment.
