OCT. 25

UNWELCOME GUESTS

12:38 a.m. — 400 block of St. Armands Circle
Dispute: An officer was dispatched to the area after receiving a report of a disturbance. The officer made contact with two women, both of whom were heavily intoxicated. Both women had been kicked out of multiple bars in the area and got into a dispute with a cab drive before the officer arrived. None of the parties involved in those altercations wished to press charges. Both women, who were visiting the area on vacation, were transported to their hotel without further incident.

 

OCT. 26

VEHICLE SURVEILLANCE

7:08 p.m. — 6500 block of GMD

Suspicious Vehicle: Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked behind a residence under construction. The van had stucco equipment inside, and police deemed it a suitable vehicle to sit  in front of a construction site.

DEPTH OF THE PROBLEM

11:17 p.m. — 700 block of Marbury Lane

Public Service: Police found 6 inches of water in front of the Public Works Department and called Public Works employees to report a possible water break. The cause of the flooding was determined to be a strong wind combined with high tide.

OCT. 28

PRISON FAKE

8:45 a.m. — 700 block of Emerald Harbor Drive

Fraud: A man told police he got a call from someone who sounded like his grandson, who was crying and asking for $1,500 to get out of a Dominican Republic jail. The drug store employee handling the money gram he was sending stopped the payment before it was sent and tagged it as fraud.

WET BANDITS?

10:31 p.m. — 500 block of Lyons Lane

Suspicious Circumstance: Police responded to a house alarm and found wet footprints on the dock near the bow of a boat on a lift behind the home. The boats were not disturbed. Police promised to keep a close patrol on the neighborhood.

 

OCT. 29

HOOKED ON THE BEACH

12:40 p.m. — 4600 block of GMD

Rescue: Police and firefighter/paramedics found a woman sitting on the beach with a fishing hook sticking out of her leg. She told police she was walking in the Gulf when she stepped on the hook and it got stuck in her leg.
