July 8
Well done
8:52 p.m. — 5400 block of GMD.
Fire. A man told police that burned food activated his smoke detector.

July 9
Party’s over
2:06 a.m. — 700 block of Marbury Lane.
Disturbance. Police responded to the site of a reported loud pool party. The man agreed to bring his guests inside.

Lost wallet
12:19 p.m. — 5600 block of GMD. Lost/Missing Property. A man reported that he was missing his wallet, which contained his driver’s license, credit cards and $200.

Another Debby casualty
1:34 p.m. — 700 block of Marbury Lane. Lost/Missing Property. A man reported that his trashcan had been missing since the recent tropical storm. He said that the trash-collection company told him he needed to file a police report to have it replaced at no cost.

July 10
Swimming pool shenanigans
12:43 a.m. — 3300 block of GMD. Suspicious Vehicle. A man reported that a male and female were running from the pool area from a condominium property and left the complex in a gray pickup truck.

Now you ‘sea’ it ...
11:58 a.m. — 6100 block of GMD. Lost/Missing Property. A man reported that his kayak, which he usually placed in the sea oats behind his home, went missing. Police agreed to look for the kayak during water patrols and advised him to secure his remaining kayaks.

Brush stroke
1:59 p.m. — 5300 block of GMD. Property Damage. A restaurant supervisor noticed fresh scratches on his SUV after sending an employee home for not doing his job. He said he believed the employee keyed his car in retaliation. Police noticed that the scratches looked more like scratches caused by a branch or other object that could have brushed against the vehicle but left a message for the employee asking him to contact them.

July 12
Out of gas
7 p.m. — 2000 block of GMD.
Reckless Driving. Police located a truck reportedly swerving on the roadway. The driver told police he was about to run out of gas and was swerving to try to keep gas in the carburetor. Police gave him enough gas to make it to the nearest station and warned him about swerving. He also received a citation for an expired registration.

July 13
Living space?
9:14 a.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway.
Suspicious Circumstance. A construction worker told police that he saw a man crawling out from under a vacant restaurant building around 4:30 a.m. The man stood up, said “hello” and walked off. Police found an opening on the lower level of the building and passed the information on to the night shift for extra patrol attention.

Middle of the road
9:26 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway. Public Service. A driver attempted to turn around on Bay Isles Parkway and accidentally struck the median, causing his vehicle to get stuck.

No pane, no gain
4:13 p.m. — 4400 block of Exeter Drive. Property Damage. A real-estate agent reported a shattered sliding-glass door at a condominium she is listing. Police determined that the shattering didn’t appear to have been struck and looked like it had broken because of a defective pane. Police suggested contacting the manufacturer.

July 14
Think before you drink
2:40 p.m. — 100 block of GMD.
Code Enforcement. Police warned the occupants of a vehicle at a park area that alcohol is prohibited.

July 15
Damaged delivery
10:26 a.m. — 500 block of Spinnaker Lane.
A woman reported that her neighbor’s mailbox had been damaged. Police found that someone likely struck the mailbox’s piling posts, causing it to fall over. Police found white and gray paint on the pole but were unable to find the vehicle involved.
