The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Oct. 12
 Drink and dash

7:47 p.m. — 5000 block of Lena Road. Petit Theft. Three men walked into a liquor store Saturday night and picked up two bottles of vodka. The men proceeded to leave the store without paying. Asked by the owner if they were going to pay, the men did not respond and got into a black SUV. When police tracked down the owner of the vehicle, she told them that her son and his girlfriend had the car.

Oct. 13
 broken mailbox

7:28 a.m. — 200 block of Petrel Trail. Property Damage. An unknown vehicle damaged a woman’s mailbox when the driver backed into it. The woman found what she believes to be the taillight of the car.

Oct. 15
 Computer cabana

1:16 p.m. — 8000 block of Haven Harbour Way. Lost Property. A man reported his laptop went missing at the pool. The man said he had the laptop while he was at the pool and didn’t realize it was gone until later. When he returned to the pool area, he couldn’t find his computer. He wanted to report the computer lost for the insurance claim.

Smoke and guns 
8:09 a.m. 12000 block of U.S. 301 N. Grand Theft. A Smith & Wesson handgun was stolen from a desk drawer.

Oct. 16
 Concerned call

7:41 p.m. — 4000 block of 32nd Lane E. Found Property. Police were called after a concerned father found drug paraphernalia at the bus stop by his home. The items were collected and submitted to property and evidence.

Oct. 17
 Doesn’t add up

11:08 p.m. — 1300 block of Highland Road. Fraud. A woman reported there were two unauthorized transactions, totaling about $1,000, on her bank account.

Oct. 18
 Serial suspect

9:29 p.m. — 6000 Tailfeather Way. Burglary. Someone broke into an unoccupied vacation house through the rear glass window. The owner currently resides in England. The burglary was similar in nature to another burglary that was reported a few days prior.

Off the chain
12:01 p.m. — 37000 block of State Road 70 E. Found Property. While on patrol, a police officer came across a chainsaw in the grass on the side of the road. The chainsaw was collected and put into property and evidence.
