The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

BARRINGTON RIDGE
Aug. 21
 4 a.m. — 3900 block of 61st Drive E.
Burglary to an occupied dwelling. The victim stated an unknown attempted to make entry into her residence. The person was unsuccessful and fled in an unknown direction. The victim has security cameras on the exterior of the residence.

BRADEN CROSSINGS
Aug. 21
 9 a.m. — 5600 block of 47th Court Eas
t. Burglary. Unknown person(s) kicked open the front door and entered the residence. The person(s) removed several items and then fled in an unknown direction.

GREENBROOK
Reported Aug. 19
 2:42 p.m. — 15200 block of Skip Jack Loop. 
Petit theft. The complainant reported someone stole a UPS package from his residence. The package was delivered by UPS and dropped off by the driver at the complainant’s front door. A UPS representative advised the complainant the company would review its GPS technology from the delivery truck.

RIOMAR
Aug. 22
 12:49 p.m. — 6600 block of 38th Lane East.
Suspicious circumstance. The complainant was sitting in her living room when an unknown white male opened her front door. The male didn’t say anything and never made entry into the home. Once the complainant saw the male, he shut the door. The complainant’s husband went outside and didn’t see which way the male ran. There was a small, white, four-door car parked across from their house. When the responding deputy arrived, the car was gone. A case number was issued.

OTHER
Aug. 21
 2 p.m. — 7100 block of State Road 70 East. 
Found property. The complainant stated an employee of his found a purse on a bench under a table in the dining area during her break. The items were listed on forms and the purse and all of its contents were placed in property and evidence at the Operations Center for safekeeping.

3 p.m. — 8320 Lockwood Ridge Road (Walmart). Grand theft. The victim stated he left his wallet at register 14 and an unknown person took $365 cash from the wallet. There was no security person working at the time to view security footage. Walmart was going to contact the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office when a copy of the security footage was available.

6:20 p.m. — 2911 53rd Ave. E. (Walmart). Petit theft. The suspect took an HDMI cable out of the box and placed it into a stroller. He dropped the box on the floor and kicked it under the shelf. He and his wife then went to a cash register and paid for some items, but they didn’t pay for the cable. The couple then walked to the front of the store past all points of sale. Security then made contact with the suspect. The cost of the stolen item was $32. Walmart recovered the item without any damage.

9 p.m. — 6225 S.R. 64 E. (Walmart). Retail theft. The defendant was observed concealing items in her purse. She then exited the store making no attempt to pay for the concealed items. The complainant stopped the defendant and held her until sheriff’s office deputies arrived.

 1:15 p.m. — 19900 block of State Road 64 E.
Grand theft. The complainant reported an unknown person stole aluminum siding from her rental house. The estimated cost to replace the siding is $2,000.
