The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

JUNE 28
BAND-IT ON THE RUN
8:35 a.m. — 5810 Ranch Lake Blvd. 
Theft from Building $300 to $5,000. An unknown male entered the store, took a car stereo and placed it in his clothing. He then attempted to exit the store through the lawn-and-garden section. The managers who were watching this unfold on camera chased the suspect. The suspect dropped the item outside after he left all points of sale.

Pipe DREAM
10 p.m. — 12900 block of State Road 70 E. Found Property. While searching the vehicle, the responding deputy found a pipe. The pipe put into property and evidence.

JUNE 29
Road warrior
11:30 p.m. — 5700 block of 29th Court E.
Lost Property. The complainant reported she must have put her purse on top of her car and driven off because her purse was gone. The responding deputy listed the items inside the purse. The complainant stated she already has applied online for a new driver’s license but wanted a report to get her Social Security card replaced.

JUNE 30
Messy trail
8:30 a.m. — 8200 block of Reynolds Falls Court.
Burglary to an Unoccupied Dwelling. Unknown subject(s) entered the unoccupied dwelling and rummaged through drawers and cabinets taking an unknown amount of property.

Poppins’ purse
6:25 p.m. — 5205 University Parkway. Theft from Building $300 to $5,000. The complainant observed the defendant conceal multiple items in her purse and leave the store without purchasing the items. The complainant recovered all of the concealed items. The loss-prevention supervisor also trespassed the defendant.

JULY 1
BURN NOTICE
8 a.m. — 2800 block of 34th Avenue Drive E. 
Burglary to an Unoccupied Dwelling. Unknown person(s) used unknown means to smash out the rear sliding-glass door of the residence. Once inside, the person(s) burned the countertop using unknown methods and ransacked the house. The person(s) also removed copper wiring from the air handler. No surveillance is available of the area. No latent fingerprints were recovered. Photos were taken of the scene.

Elderly disrespect
3:53 P.M. — 6100 Block of 95th Street Circle E. Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of Elderly and Disabled Adults. Hospital staff contacted adult protective services and law enforcement after an 85-year-old female in their care claimed she was being abused at home. On completion of the investigation, the incident was unfounded and closed. 

Cable conundrum
6:30 P.M. — 11200 Block of White Rock Terrace. Grand Theft. The complainant reported unknown subjects stole a Bright House networks amplifier box from in front of the residence. The complainant stated it appears as if the subjects cut the cables to the amplifier box and removed the box. He stated nobody saw the box being removed.
