Nov. 17
Tag trouble
1:33 p.m. — 2300 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive (GMD).
Traffic Violation. Police pulled over a man for driving a truck with the wrong tag. The man’s supervisor was called to the scene to correct the problem.

Collision course
2:06 p.m. — 1100 block of GMD.
Property Damage. A Longboat Key fire truck ran into the guard shack at a condominium complex. Both the fire truck and the guard shack sustained minor damage.

Moor problems
6:04 p.m. — Intersection of Linley Street and Bayside Drive.
Code Enforcement. A Longbeach Village resident reported an illegally moored catamaran in Sarasota Bay. Several other boats were moored and will be monitored because live-aboard vessels are not allowed under town code.

Nov. 19
Nap time
9:59 a.m. — 100 block of Broadway
. Suspicious Vehicle. Police observed a man lying down in a sport utility vehicle parked at the Broadway public beach access. The man told police he was early for an appointment at a real-estate office and had pulled over to take a quick nap.

Small scratch
9:04 p.m. — 100 block of GMD.
Disturbance. A woman called police to report a man hit her passenger side mirror with his car door at Overlook Park. A report was written up for the minor scratch that was on the mirror.

Safe and secure
9:55 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway
. Security Check. Police discovered that a door to a vacant restaurant was unlocked and secured it.

Nov. 20
Party crasher
12:03 a.m. — 200 block of Sands Point Road
. Suspicious Circumstance. Members of a private party called police to report an uninvited guest had shown up. The man apologized to police for being there, and no charges were filed.

Nov. 21
Late-night beachgoers
12:57 a.m. — 100 block of North Shore Road.
Suspicious Person. Police spotted two sandy, wet men near the North Shore Road beach access. The men told police they had been on the beach earlier, and they accepted a ride to Bradenton Beach.
