Pawn decision was bad move
14700 block of Missy Hammock Lane, Myakka City
Theft: A man was cleaning out his truck and found a pawn receipt from a pawn shop in Sarasota County with a man's name who had been employed to work on his ranch. The pawn information indicated the item to be a chain saw. The employee had been using the man's chain saw on the ranch. The man went to the pawn shop and purchased the saw, which he confirmed was his. The man contacted the Sheriff's Office and discovered the employee was in jail on unrelated charges.

No service dog
8400 block of Lockwood Ridge Road, Sarasota
Trespass warning: A woman called the Sheriff's Office because she was not allowed to bring her pooch into a fast-food restaurant. When the Sheriff's Office deputy responded, she told him the manager said she couldn't bring the Yorkie into the restaurant because he wasn't a service animal. She told the deputy the restaurant had two dogs in the kitchen. The deputy, who knew the woman had been warned before about bringing the dog into that restaurant along with bringing in a cup to take fountain drinks, found no dogs in the kitchen. The woman said her dog was "close" to being a service dog. The deputy made sure the woman left the restaurant.

Hold the anchovies
820 block of Honeyflower Loop, Bradenton
Suspicious incidents: A Sheriff's Office deputy went to an office where the employees said they were receiving unsolicited pizza deliveries. The deliveries were all in the name of the property owner and a current employee, but no one had ordered the pizza from any of the three restaurants that delivered. A delivery person was present and he voided the sale. While the deputy was on the scene, another pizza was delivered. The delivery person provided the deputy with the phone number given as a contact along with caller ID information. The information came back as belonging to the office. As the deputy gathered information, a call came into the office. A young male's voice stated, "How many body bags do I need to bring?" The staff had no idea who was ordering the pizzas or making the calls. The deputy advised office staff to document the incidents and to call their phone provider to trace the calls.

23800 block of 53rd Avenue, Myakka City
Disturbing the peace: A homeowner called the Sheriff's office about loud music coming from an outdoor concert venue nearby.  The homeowner complained the music was "resonating through the walls and disturbing his peace by interfering with his ability to relax." The man said the music, particularly the bass, was penetrating the walls of his home. The deputy who answered the call could hear the music coming from the venue. The man was issued a case card.
