Oct. 10
CRUNCH TIME
2:35 a.m. 5100 block of Ocean Boulevard
. Impaired Person. An officer was making sure everyone had cleared out of a bar when a man approached him and stood directly in front of him. The officer asked if the man needed any help; the man started talking, but wasn’t making any sense. The man then tried to get into a fight with another person. Afterward, the man got on the ground and tried to do an abdominal exercise with his feet in the air.

Oct. 12
FATHER ’N’ LAW
7:30 p.m. 2300 block of North Tamiami Trail
. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man said his son took the keys to his car and used the vehicle without his permission. The son returned the vehicle about an hour later. When the man told his son he was calling the police, the son left. The officer told the man he didn’t believe there was any criminal intent, but the man insisted his son be charged. He said just because the vehicle was returned, it didn’t mean it hadn’t been stolen.

NAP-CAR
4:23 a.m. 1500 block of Main Street
. Trespassing. A man found another man sleeping inside his friend’s car. The man said his friend left his vehicle parked in the back of a bar with the back window down. The man said the sleeping man left the area via bicycle before officers arrived.

ANIMATED DISPUTE
11:45 a.m. 2600 block of Pine Lake Terrace.
Petit Theft From Building. A woman got into a fight with her friend, who was staying in her apartment, and asked her to leave. When the woman returned to her apartment, she found her friend had moved out and the front door was open. She discovered that a bottle of perfume and a DVD of the movie “Happy Feet” were missing. The woman said her friend was mad at her because she thinks the woman stole a bottle of whiskey from her, which she denied. The friend denied any theft, but said she did believe the woman stole the bottle of whiskey.

WAKE-UP CALL
11:30 p.m. 3500 block of Cheshire Square
. Dispute/Fight. A man went to an apartment with his girlfriend to meet one of her friends. When they arrived, the friend got angry because they woke him, and he asked them to leave. The friend sent the woman messages, asking how she would like it if he came over and woke her. When the man went back to speak with the friend, he said the friend got angry. The man thought the friend might start a fight. The friend said he was just upset that they had woken him when he had to wake up early for work the next morning and had no intentions of fighting anyone.

MOVIN’ OUT
10:21 p.m. 800 block of South Tamiami Trail
. Miscellaneous Public. A man came to his apartment and found that his landlord had moved all of his property outside and locked the door. The man had mail that showed he had resided there since July. Officers couldn’t make contact with anyone inside the residence, and told the man he could either find somewhere to stay for the night or attempt to break into the residence. The man went to a hotel, but was upset that officers didn’t let him inside.
