Sept. 9
Thief proposes repayment plan
11:12 a.m. — 3600 block of GMD. Fraud. A woman reported that a man she had been living with for two years acquired her online banking password and stole $44,600 from her bank account over the course of 18 months. When she confronted him, he offered to pay her back “at the rate of $500 per month, which would take 7.43 years to repay in full.”

Sept. 11
Boat theft
4:02 p.m. — 600 block of Dream Island Road. Larceny. A man reported that someone stole three motors from a 34-foot-long boat that was moored near Dream Island Road.

Memory lapse
6:46 p.m. — 1100 block of GMD. Public Service. A woman reported that someone had entered her condominium and refused to leave. Upon arrival, police discovered the “intruder” was a caregiver who was hired to take care of the condominium owner. Police contacted the woman’s daughter, who helped calm her mother down.

Sept. 12
Call waiting
11:56 a.m. — 500 block of Norton Street. Vehicle Burglary. A man called to report that someone stole his briefcase from his car in the middle of night. The briefcase contained $40 in cash, a checkbook, his cell phone and a set of keys. The burglar opted not to answer the cell phone when the victim tried to call his stolen phone.

Rash of vehicle burglaries
3:11 p.m. — 700 block of Hideaway Bay Drive. Vehicle Burglary. A man reported that someone broke into his rental car and left the passenger door open. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle. Later that day, another man reported that his car had been broken into and the driver’s side door was left open.

Sept. 13
We’ll drink no wine …
3:40 p.m. — 700 block of Old Compass Road. Vehicle Burglary. Police reported that two vehicles were broken into. The burglar stole four bottles of wine valued at $40 from behind the driver’s seat of one of the cars.

Sept. 15
You can’t live here
9:44 a.m. — 100 block of North Shore Road. Code Enforcement. Police noticed several lean-to structures on Beer Can Island and disassembled them. It’s the third time structures have been disassembled there this year for public safety.

Relationship issues
8:43 p.m. — 500 block of Yawl Lane. Disturbance. A man reported that his girlfriend of two years became upset when his son called while they were having dinner. When the man asked her to leave, she began breaking things. The man told police he grabbed her and took her outside because he had several pieces of valuable art he didn’t want destroyed. Police reported the woman proceeded to break several potted plants when they arrived on site.

Social service
10:05 p.m. — Off the Key. Assist Other Agency. Police assisted Bradenton Beach police with calming down an intoxicated and argumentative homeless man behind a restaurant and directed him to social services.

Sept. 16
Lost and found
1:20 a.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway. Public Drunkenness. While looking for a prowler, police came across a drunken man wearing a T-shirt and no pants. Police found his pants nearby and hauled him to jail to sober up.

Monkeying around
9:58 a.m. — 5100 block of GMD. Suspicious Circumstance. A woman reported that someone cut a large amount of bananas from her banana tree. She said it’s not the first time someone had stolen her bananas. Police promised to keep a watch out for the banana thief.

Worker caught red-handed
1:33 p.m. — 200 block of Sands Point Road. Larceny. A day laborer for a pool contractor was spotted stealing three kayak paddles from resort property and placing them in his truck. The man was arrested.
