March 22
Night riders
8:06 a.m. — 700 block of South Washington Boulevard.
Criminal Mischief. A car dealership discovered that overnight someone drove onto the lot and damaged several vehicles. A Longboat Key police car was pushed into a pickup truck, and another car was pushed into the police car. The damage was minor. The dealership’s surveillance camera may have captured the identity of the suspect.

Customer service
11:21 p.m. — 100 block of Downrigger Way.
Criminal Mischief. A tattoo artist got a ride home from one of his regular customers. When they arrived at his home, she asked him for $10 for gas. He refused, so she got out of her car, grabbed a tire iron and smashed his front window.

March 23
Traveling violation
12:11 p.m. — 300 block of South Shore Drive.
Criminal Mischief. A statue of an athlete was stolen overnight and placed in the middle of the road. There are no suspects.

High school hooky

12:18 p.m. — 800 block of Orange Avenue.
Suspicious Incident. A mother told police that her 17-year-old daughter left her high-school campus with an older teenage boy, who took her to Busch Gardens. Police were waiting for the two at school when they returned.

Punching bag
1:18 p.m. — 2700 block of Fruitville Road.
Criminal Mischief. The complainant was backing his car out of a drug-store parking spot, when a woman he knew approached the car and punched it. The punch left a small dent. The man and woman had a previous encounter that apparently didn’t end to the suspect’s satisfaction. The woman admitted to punching the car.

5:05 p.m. — 2400 block of West Milmar Drive.
Harassing Phone Calls. A young woman said ever since she broke up with her boyfriend, he has been calling her cell phone non-stop. She blocked his number, so the ex-boyfriend began calling her father. Both father and daughter said they felt threatened. When the officer was taking the report, the phone rang. The officer answered the phone. It was the ex-boyfriend. The officer told him never to call again. The ex-boyfriend said he understood.
