Gas leak
2:10 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway.
Gas Leak. A gas company was called to repair a natural-gas leak near Avenue of the Flowers.

May 26
Redecorating plans
7:57 a.m. — 3500 block of GMD.
Larceny. Two ceramic pots, a chair cushion and two plastic palm trees valued at $250 were stolen from a parking garage near an elevator.

Truck stop
11:08 a.m. — 500 block of St. Judes Drive.
Highway Obstruction. A garbage-truck driver called to complain that a truck was blocking the road and preventing him from continuing his trash pickup.

Missing items
2:43 p.m. — 500 block of Spinnaker Lane.
Burglary. Someone stole a $500 men’s sport watch, a $1,100 Movado ladies watch, a $250 brown leather band, a $250 digital camera case, $150 Oakley sunglasses and $350 worth of miscellaneous jewelry from a man’s home.

Ongoing investigation
4:06 p.m. — 6400 block of GMD.
Burglary. A man called to report jewelry missing from his home. The case is part of an ongoing investigation.

May 28
Give me a break
7:15 a.m. — 6400 block of GMD.
Rescue. A man was found lying on the ground next to his bicycle at a bus stop. The man was deemed healthy by paramedics.

Repair despair
8:44 a.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway.
Traffic Violation. A man claiming to be a mechanic told police he didn’t have registration for the car he was driving because he had picked it up for repair. But when the mechanic said he only had an international driver’s license, he was issued tickets, and the car he was driving was towed away.

Walk the walk
4:19 p.m. — 100 block of GMD.
Traffic Violation. A man attempted to walk away from his car when police approached him for making a wide, unsafe turn near Overlook Park. The wandering man was arrested for not having a driver’s license and for being wanted in Hendry County.

May 29
Drafting
12:31 p.m. — Intersection of GMD and Bay Isles Parkway.
Traffic Violation. Police issued a man a ticket for following a woman so closely that she thought he was going to “push her down the road.”

Day at the beach
6:15 p.m. — 6400 block of GMD.
Trespassing. A man called to report a suspicious car in his driveway. The owner of the car was found trespassing on the beach and was issued a trespass warning.

May 30
Persistence of memory
6:46 p.m. — 100 block of North Shore Road.
Disturbance. Two men, who had been drinking, got into a fistfight on Beer Can Island. The fight had to be broken up by other beachgoers, town police and fire-rescue crews. One of the men, who had to be resuscitated after he didn’t come out of the water right away, was transported to the hospital. The man told police he couldn’t remember what caused him to fight the other man.

May 31
Target practice
3 p.m. — 500 block of Schooner Lane.
Code Enforcement. A man told police he heard gunshots and saw the bullets hitting the water in the canal behind his home. Police found a man who was shooting pellets into the canal and warned him not to scare his neighbors again.

Not on the house
4:25 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway.
Larceny. A grocery-store manager caught a man who placed a 12-pack of Natural Ice beer into his backpack and attempted to walk out of the store with it.
