The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

GREENBROOK
 Oct. 22

6:15 a.m. — 13800 Waterthrush Place. Information. The complainant heard his neighbor’s car horn going off for about 15 minutes. He checked the car doors, and they were locked. The lights in the house were on, and a dog was barking inside the house. The responding deputy walked around the residence and didn’t see anyone. The front door was unlocked. The responding deputy entered the residence to make sure no one was in distress. The owner returned about 45 minutes later and stated she didn’t know why the horn was going off and that everything looked to be OK.

LAKEWOOD RANCH
 Oct. 23

10:30 a.m. — 5500 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. (Lakewood Ranch High). Battery. Two juvenile students got into a fight over one of the students not being allowed to participate in throwing a football. When the football wasn’t caught and bounced on the ground, both students ran after the ball and collided, causing the aggression toward each other as they thought it was done deliberately.

RIVER SPRINGS
 Oct. 22

1 p.m. — 900 block of 154th Street Northeast. Burglary to an unoccupied dwelling. Unknown person(s) entered the victim’s residence possibly through an unlocked back door. Once inside, the person(s) removed $3,750 and then fled in an unknown direction.

UNIVERSITY PARK
 Reported Oct. 22

12:19 p.m. — 7700 block of Plantation Circle. Stalking. The victim reported the defendant has been making numerous disturbing phone calls and text messages. The defendant has also been making false accusations that have been upsetting her and her family. The victim has told him the relationship is over and to stop calling and texting.

OTHER
 Oct. 20

3 p.m. — 9501 S.R. 64 E. (Haile Middle School). Disorderly conduct. The juvenile suspect became disruptive in the class, turning over desks and breaking out a ceiling tile. The suspect verbally assaulted school personnel and caused other students in the class to have to be moved for safety reasons. The suspect then fled off campus and was retrieved by his mother.

Oct. 22
3:11 — 8750 S.R. 70 E. (Sweetbay). Petit theft. A white female in her 20s reportedly walked out of the store with a 12-pack of beer and two sub sandwiches. A cashier yelled at the suspect, telling her to bring back the items because she didn’t pay for them. The suspect brought back the beer but kept the sandwiches. The suspect was seen getting into a Jeep. The complainant was able to get a tag number for the vehicle, which was observed on video.

Oct. 23
4:57 p.m. — The intersection of Country Park Way and University Parkway.  DUI with property damage. The deputy arrived at the location in response to a crash. After investigating the scene, the deputy initiated a DUI investigation. Three field sobriety tests were conducted. Prescription pills not belonging to the defendant were found. The defendant’s vehicle was towed, and she was transported to the Manatee County Jail.
6:55 p.m. — 9515 S.R. 64 E. (Freedom Elementary). Burglary to an occupied structure. Two juveniles entered the school’s double doors without permission. The juveniles began trying the doors to some locked classrooms where a custodian found them. While being approached, the youths said a few derogatory remarks and fled on foot out of the school. Another custodian tried to stop the juveniles outside of the parking lot but was unsuccessful. Both juveniles left the scene on BMX bikes prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
