The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

BRADEN CROSSINGS
Aug. 31
 12:55 p.m. 
— 4600 block of 56th Terrace East. Burglary. Sometime overnight, unknown persons entered the unsecured vehicle and took the speakers and an amp from it. At another residence on the same street, an iPod and cell phone were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

LAKEWOOD RANCH
Aug. 30
 2:35 p.m.
 — 5500 block of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard. Criminal mischief. Sometime between 7:35 a.m. and 2:28 p.m., unknown persons vandalized the vehicle by puncturing all four tires with a sharp object. Subject(s) also smashed the rear window with unknown blunt objects.

Aug. 31
 7:41 a.m.
— 11500 block of Palmbrush Trail (Michelangelo’s Pizza). Burglary. Unknown persons smashed out the front door glass with a piece of concrete. The suspects entered the store and pried open two file cabinets, located next to the cash register. The front door was still locked and the piece of concrete was about one foot from the front door. The manager of Subway called to report the smashed door.

LIGHTHOUSE COVE AT HERITAGE SOUND
Aug. 31
 3:30 p.m.
— 3000 block of Chatum Light Run. Burglary residence and verified alarm. Unknown person(s) entered the residence by prying the rear sliding door off the track. The person(s) then went directly to the upstairs rear master bedroom closet and removed the lock box/safe from a shelf.

OTHER
July 29
 7:12 p.m.
— 6200 block of State Road 64 East (Walmart). Petit theft and trespass warning. Store personnel observed the two defendants selecting merchandise and concealing it in their purses. The two defendants exited the store through the tire and lube express exit, where they were approached and detained by asset protection. The merchandise taken was valued at $95.58. The defendants admitted to stealing the items because “Times are hard.” One of the subjects was arrested because it was her second time stealing at the store, and she trespassed on the property. She knew she would be arrested if she came back on the property. Both defendants were transported to the Manatee County Jail.

July 30
 6:44 a.m.
— 4400 block of 51st Street East. Theft. Unknown suspect(s) cut and stole the backflow preventer pipe from the residence.

6:55 a.m. — 4100 block of 45th Street East. Theft. The victim walked outside to pick up her newspaper. As she walked out to the road, she saw water running out of the ground. The victim went back to the house and turned on the water faucet and no water came out. She realized her water meter may have vandalized. The victim called the sheriff’s office and called a plumbing company, who came out and located the water line. The back flow meter was cut out and taken. A similar incident was reported in the 2700 block of the same street.
