The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

GREENBROOK
 April 21

9:30 a.m. — 14400 block of Sundial Place. Theft. The victim reported the suspect, who works for her cleaning company, and a helper came to her residence to clean. The victim stated when she returned home after they left, she discovered one of her rings was missing from her jewelry box. The victim stated she called the cleaning company and spoke to the suspect about the ring. The suspect said he didn’t know anything about the ring, and he also asked the helper who said she didn’t know anything about the ring. The victim stated she has touched and handled the jewelry box several times since the incident while looking for the ring, so if there were any fingerprints they would have been disturbed.
 
MYAKKA CITY
April 23
 5 p.m.
— 18650 C.R. 675 (4 Star Tomato). Burglary to an unoccupied structure. Unknown person(s) entered the farm and took property from two locations. Forced entry was made to both locations. The stolen property is valued at $5,754.50. A CSO responded to process the scene.

SARASOTA
April 21
 12:01 a.m. 
— 2875 University Parkway (Publix). Fraudulent use of a credit card. Unknown person(s) used the victim’s credit card information to buy things at a Publix.
The victim talked to the store manager and was told they may have video of the incident. Dispatch was notified to send a deputy to the store to pick up a copy of the video.
 
April 25
 9:25 a.m.
— 5475 University Parkway (Home Depot). Vehicle burglary. Unknown person(s) entered the victim’s unlocked truck and removed power tools from the backseat. The person(s) then fled with the property in an unknown direction by unknown means.
 
UNIVERSITY PLACE
April 19
 5:35 p.m.
— The intersection of Seven Oaks Drive and Honore Avenue. Criminal mischief. The complainant reported a service cargo truck with Sears Blue Appliance Crew printed on it ran through the barrier arms at the resident-only entrance at University Place. The complainant stated she had video of the cargo truck driving through the barrier.
 
OTHER
April 22
 3 p.m.
— 5129 53rd Ave. East (Hobby Marketplace). Theft. The suspect reportedly came into the store and was walking around. The complainant stated he looked suspicious, and as he walked out he noticed a big bulge in his shirt. The complainant confronted the suspect, but the suspect denied it and drove off. The complainant was able to get a tag number and a description of the vehicle. After watching the surveillance video, the complainant discovered the suspect stole about $57 in tools.

6 p.m. — 5600 block of 45th Street East. Grand theft. While the victim and another individual were walking to the store, the suspect and some friends pulled up in a van. The suspect and his friends approached the victim and the other individual and began a physical confrontation. During the confrontation, the suspect struck the victim and placed him in a chokehold, causing him to pass out. When the victim woke up, he found his cell phone and $60 missing from his pockets. It is unknown who took the victim’s property. The suspect was located an arrested for the battery.
 
April 23
 12:35 a.m.
— 600 block of 67th Street Circle East. Grand theft. The complainant reported she left her pocketbook at the store and then left to travel to Naples. After arriving in Naples, she realized it was missing and called her cell phone in her missing pocketbook. An employee heard the phone ring and called her back. The employee advised her the pocketbook was there and would be kept behind the counter. When the complainant returned, everything was in her pocketbook with the exception of $350. Unknown person(s) took the cash. The store will provide a copy of the videotape, which shows the series of events.
