The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

LAKEWOOD RANCH
 March 3

9:10 a.m. — 5500 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. (Lakewood Ranch High). Possession of marijuana. Dispatch reportedly broadcast via radio a BOLO for a white Jeep Cherokee with several passengers in it. The occupants were smoking what appeared to be illegal drugs from a crushed can. A deputy heard the broadcast and spotted the vehicle at Adventure Park. The deputy followed the vehicle to Lakewood Ranch High. Once at the school, Romano approached the vehicle. In a visual search of the vehicle from the exterior, he could see what appeared to be drug paraphernalia. A subsequent search located marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

March 7
 9:30 a.m.
— 14300 block of Covenant Way. Petit theft. The complainant reported an unknown person stole her wallet. She was in church with her purse lying on the pew next to her. She went forward during an altar call and when she returned her purse was open. Her wallet was missing but her driver license was taken out of her wallet and placed back into her purse.

RIVER CLUB
 March 8

2:15 p.m. — 6215 River Club Blvd. (Braden River Middle). Petit theft. The principal advised that a student had $50 stolen from her backpack in the girls’ locker room. He advised she put the backpack on the floor and not in her locker. She left it there and went outside to play. When she came back, the $50 was missing from a white cup inside the backpack. The person(s) fled the scene in an unknown direction.

ROSEDALE
Reported March 6
 9 a.m.
— 5100 87th St. E. (Rosedale Golf & Country Club). Grand theft. Unknown person(s) entered the golf storage area and stole a set of golf clubs. Numerous club employees and possibly other golfers frequent the area from where the clubs were taken.

TARA
 March 9

9 a.m. — The cul-de-sac of 70th Drive East and Tara Boulevard. Vehicle burglary. Unknown person(s) entered the lawn maintenance trailer by unknown means. The person(s) then fled in an unknown direction by unknown means. The work crew discovered that some of the lawn property was missing. They reported the incident to their boss who is one of the business owners and he called 911. It is company policy to lock the trailer when the crew is away from it working. The responding deputy was advised the trailer had been previously locked. No lock of other evidence was located. Several witnesses reported they didn’t see anything unusual.

OTHER
 March 10

1:04 p.m. — 2911 53rd Ave. E. (Wal-Mart). Retail theft. The defendant entered the store and concealed $45 worth of scrubs into a bag. The defendant then exited the store, passing all points of sale, without paying for the concealed items. The defendant was detained by loss prevention and issued a trespass warning. While transporting the defendant to the transport unit, her husband approached and told her there was going to be a “domestic” when she got out because she “disgraced” the family. The defendant was issued a domestic packet.

March 12
7:31 p.m. — 6225 S.R. 64 E. (Wal-Mart). Retail theft. The defendant was caught by Loss Prevention selecting and concealing $131.94 worth of cosmetics. She then passed all points of sale and exited the store, where the complainant stopped her. The defendant was arrested and transported to jail without incident. The complainant retrieved the store merchandise prior to the responding deputy’s arrival.
