The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

BRADEN WOODS
 Jan. 26

1:30 p.m. — 8900 block of 68th Avenue East. Burglary. A white male reportedly went to the rear of the residence and took an air compressor that was being stored in a shed. The suspect then walked north down the street while wheeling the compressor behind him. The suspect made it to the 9200 block of 66th Avenue Drive East and went up to another residence and asked the owner if he could leave the compressor there until his friend came to pick him up. The suspect left the compressor and continued to walk down the street.

CHRISTIAN RETREAT
 Jan. 24

10 a.m. — 1100 block of Faith Circle East. Burglary. Unknown person(s) unlocked the victim’s front door while she was at church and entered her residence. Once inside, the person(s) removed $58 from the nightstand drawer in the master bedroom. The person(s) then exited the residence before the victim returned home from church, leaving the front door unlocked. The church’s main office and the security guards are the only ones with keys to the residence besides the victim.

HERITAGE HARBOUR
 Reported Jan. 25

5:20 p.m. — 7100 block of Chatum Light Run. Suspicious circumstance. The complainant was away for the weekend. When she returned home, she found a small puddle of dried blood outside her front door. Dispatch had no record of any calls for service at the residence or within the area. A deputy canvassed several houses and no one heard or saw anything. Photos were taken of the scene.

Reported Jan. 28
12:22 p.m. — 7800 block of Haven Harbour Way. Residential burglary. Unknown suspect(s) entered the complainant’s open garage and unlocked vehicle. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole items.

LAKEWOOD RANCH
 Jan. 26

4:30 p.m. — 10300 block of Technology Terrace. Vehicle theft. Unknown person(s) broke into a fenced-in storage area. A 2005 Toyota Tacoma was stolen, and numerous items were stolen out of multiple storage containers that were situated inside the fenced in area.

RIVER CLUB
 Reported Jan. 25

6:09 p.m. — 10300 block of Palmbrooke Terrace. Vehicle burglary. Unknown person(s) entered the victim’s vehicle through an unlocked door. Once inside, the person(s) stole undisclosed items and then fled.

SARASOTA
 Reported Jan. 26

12:51 p.m. — 8400 block of Tuttle Avenue. Scheme to defraud. The victim reported a scheme to defraud to her local law enforcement office. The report was forwarded by Tazewell County because the crime took place in Manatee County. The victim reported losing $149.95 in fuel club rebates.

OTHER
 Jan. 26

11:20 a.m. — 8333 Lockwood Ridge Road (DG Hardware). Grand theft. The victim was shopping at the store and placed her wallet on the display counter. The victim walked away to find a sales associate, and upon returning she found that someone had taken all of her gift cards out of her wallet for a total loss of $316.

Reported Jan. 27
6 p.m. — 6200 block of State Road 64 East. Retail theft. The suspect entered the store and committed a retail theft. The suspect was stopped by lost prevention and taken to the lost prevention office. The responding deputy conducted an investigation and obtained sworn affidavits detailing the incident. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Manatee County Jail without incident. While searching the suspect’s purse, the deputy found a pill bottle that was in her name. The bottle was placed into property and evidence for safekeeping.
