Wine Tasting to Benefit the Longboat Key Center for the Arts Jazz Program — takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at Harry’s Continental Kitchens Deli, 525 St. Judes Drive. Cost is $10; $5 of each entry fee will go to the jazz program. Call 383-0777.
 

Smooth Jazz on St. Armands — takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 24, at St. Armands Circle Park. Enjoy the smooth sounds of B.K. Jackson at this free concert. Call 388-1554.

Longboat Key Singles Club — meets at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25. The group will carpool to Payne Park Auditorium, 2100 Laurel St., Sarasota, for dancing. For information, including meeting location, call Patty Buck at 383-8357.

Friends and Family Day — takes place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at the Longboat Island Chapel, 6200 Gulf of Mexico Drive. The Electa Lee Magnet Middle School orchestra will be featured at the chapel’s 10 a.m. worship service, followed by lunch, which will be served at 11 a.m. The event is open to the public. Musical Drama ‘Resurrection’ — takes place at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 26, at Christ Church of Longboat Key, Presbyterian, 595 Bay Isles Road. The drama will present the story of Simon Peter through dialogue and music. Contact Mary Vaughn at 376-7788.

Caviar & Canzone: A Concert of Italian Songs and Arias — takes place at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at the Longboat Key Education Center, 5370 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Suite 212. The concert features soprano Joy Leitner and tenor Joe Spinella. Champagne and caviar will be served before the concert. Italian hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will follow the concert. Cost is $20. Fashion Show to Benefit the Humane Society of Sarasota — takes place at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, at Whitney Beach Deli and Wines, 6810 Gulf of Mexico Drive. The show will feature fashions from Olivia on St. Armands Circle. A three-course lunch and complimentary glass of wine will be served. Tickets are $35. Call 383-7180.

Bridge Street Market — takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at 107 Bridge St., Bradenton Beach. This month’s featured vendor is the Whittle Peoples. The event will feature a games tent and refreshments from several vendors. The Walgreen’s Relay for Life Team will be raising money for the American Cancer Society. Sarasota-Manatee Jewish Federation Yom HaAtzma’ut Celebration — takes place at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 26, in the Beatrice Friedman Theater of the Flanzer Jewish Community Center, 582 McIntosh Road, Sarasota. The event begins with poetry readings, songs and a moment of silence in honor of Israeli fallen soldiers and victims of terrorism before the celebration of Israeli Independence Day begins. Barbara L. Harrison: Meet the Artist and Opening Reception
What: Longboat Key resident and sculptor Barbara Harrison will meet-and-greet at the opening for her Longboat Key Center for the Arts exhibit, which runs until May 20. Harrison is known for her wall- and ceiling-suspended sculptures in solid brass.
When: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 1
