Leaders of local organizations will share their priorities with the Longboat Key Town Commission at the annual goals and objectives workshop at 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, at Longboat Key Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road.

Representatives of 13 organizations have confirmed attendance and/or submitted written comments for the workshop. The written recommendations organizations submitted include:

• A request from the Longboat Key Garden Club to implement a recreational facility at Bayfront Park and to make improvements to Gulf of Mexico Drive, including beautification efforts and adding crosswalks to strategic locations;

• A request from the Longboat Library to add the library to the list of amenities in the town’s vision plan;

• A request from Longboat Key Turtle Watch to add language to existing town ordinances that would prohibit temporary structures on the beach during turtle-nesting season;

• A request from the Longboat Key Historical Society for town support of a facility that would provide both recreational reading and preserve the town’s history.
