Town Manager Bruce St. Denis will ask the Town Commission to fund a $225,000 dune restoration project at its regular workshop at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 15.

In a memo sent to the commission, St. Denis said the town hopes to receive a permit in the next two weeks to place 7,500 cubic yards of sand from Longbeach’s Periwinkle condominium building near North Shore Road south to the Broadway beach access.

Wrote St. Denis: “... To expedite the placement of sand prior to the beginning of turtle nesting season on May 1, we need to move forward immediately with procuring a contractor to perform this work on an emergency basis.
