Most Sarasota County government offices will be closed on Monday. Sarasota County Area Transit service will not be offered, and libraries and recreation centers will not be open to the public. The Payne Park Tennis Center will be open 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The city administration offices will be closed Monday, as well. Waste collection will not be affected in the city or the county.

During Monday’s Memorial Day parade in downtown Sarasota, several streets will be closed. Cars will not be allowed to park in the areas while the restriction is in place. The planned street closures, and the times they will be in effect, are:

The parade, which is being held by the Sarasota Patriotic Observance Committee, will begin at 10 a.m. at Main Street and Osprey Avenue. A ceremony is scheduled after the parade’s conclusion, held in Chaplain J.D. Hamel Park at Main Street and Gulfstream Avenue.
