'Click it or Ticket' campaign nabs 181 motorists

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office issued 181 citations for seatbelt violations during its “Click It or Ticket Campaign,” that ran from March 1 through March 16.

Deputies also made 16 arrests for driving under the influence, and cited 297 drivers for speeding, 58 drivers for driving with a suspended license and 29 for reckless driving, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

All drivers must wear seatbelts while riding in the front seat of a vehicle; passengers under 18 must buckle up regardless of where they are seated.
