Children watch K-9s in action at Sarasota Police Department

The Sarasota Police Department participated in National Take Your Child to Work Day Thursday, April 25.

The morning started with a K-9 unit demonstration at the police headquarters. About 30 children attended, including children of Sarasota Police Officers and families from the community. 

Outside the Sarasota Police Department, children watched several K-9s in action. They watched closely as Officer Tim Bain and canine partner “Kuda” showed how a K-9 took down a suspect.

“They had a great time,” said Sarasota Officer Linda DeNiro.

Later in the day, children toured a SWAT truck and special-operations command post.
