Chamber seeks last-minute triathlon volunteers

The Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers for its Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon that begins at 7 a.m. Sunday, May 5, at the Longboat Key Club & Resort Islandside.

Approximately 240 athletes have registered for the race.

Volunteers are needed for race setup, various positions throughout the course and for assistance with handing out awards and race cleanup.

Triathlon participants will swim one-quarter mile, bike 12 miles and run three miles. Duathlon participants will run one mile, then bike 12, and finish with another three-mile run.
