Car, scooter collision proves fatal

A car collided with a scooter Sunday night, ending the life of 41-year-old Lance Hadden, of Bradenton.

A Florida Highway Patrol report states Hadden was riding his motor scooter eastbound on State Road 70, near Interstate 75, in the right lane, when an eastbound 2006 Jeep driven by 18-year-old Zacchaeus Wiedeman moved from the center lane into the right lane. 

The front of Wiedeman’s vehicle collided with the rear of Hadden’s scooter. After impact, Hadden became separated from his vehicle. 

He was transported to Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, where he died from injuries received in the crash.

Wiedeman sustained no injuries.

The incident occurred at 7:20 p.m.
