+ LeadingAge Florida names Plymouth Harbor CEO Executive of the Year
LeadingAge Florida, an affiliate of the national professional organization for the senior housing industry, honored Plymouth Harbor CEO Harry Hobson as Executive of the Year at its annual conference last week.
Hobson received nominations for the honor from his colleagues and staff who recognized him for his leadership and management style, as well as specific accomplishments during the past year, including the establishment of the Plymouth Harbor Foundation, which garnered $760,000 in charitable contributions during the past year; implementation of electronic medical records in the Nursing and Short Term Rehabilitation Center; and design and capital campaign for a renovated and expanded Wellness Center that’s currently under way.

Hobson has served as president and CEO of Plymouth Trustee of Plymouth Harbor since 2004 and currently serves on Gov. Rick Scott’s Continuing Care Advisory Council.

Harry’s Continental Kitchens’ wine list recently received Wine Spectator’s 2013 Award of Excellence. The award is given to restaurants in recognition of wine lists that demonstrate character, depth and variety of selection.

+ Casa del Mar Beach Resort receives TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence
Casa del Mar Beach Resort recently received the 2013 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
The award is given to establishments that consistently receive outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor.
This is the second consecutive year in which Casa del Mar has received the award.

+ Patterson takes office as president of Florida Bar Foundation
Sarasota attorney John Patterson took office July 1, as president of the Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide charitable organization that provides leadership and funding for justice in Florida.

Patterson is a partner with Livingston, Patterson, Strickland & Siegel, P.A., and specializes in business and banking law. He has represented the Longboat Key Club & Resort and Longboat Key Hilton Beachfront Resort.

Patterson is a past president of the Sarasota County Bar Association and a Florida Bar Foundation fellow, member of the Foundation’s Gold Society for lifetime giving and is a member of its Legacy for Justice.

+ Lisa Derketsch joins the Longboat Key Club & Resort’s membership staff
Lisa Derketsch recently joined the Longboat Key Club & Resort’s membership office as membership sales assistant. Her background includes real-estate sales, motion-picture production management and management and director positions in the California music-and-entertainment industries.
