+ St. Armands Circle Association welcomes new part-time assistant
The St. Armands Circle Association has a new part-time assistant.
Mary Czernyk joined the Circle Association Oct. 1, as assistant to Executive Director Diana Corrigan.
Czernyk previously worked on the Circle as operations coordinator for Jude Connally Sarasota.

+ Cannons Marina to showcase new offerings at St. Armands Boat Show
Cannons Marina will sponsor the St. Armands Boat show, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Oct. 27. The company will display new and pre-owned vessels, including Grady-White Boats, Jupiter Boats and Southwind Deck Boats, all featuring Yamaha motors.

“We have participated in a few other shows and charity functions at St. Armands, and we had such a great experience, we wanted to sponsor an event that would provide a fun, family atmosphere and bring the highest quality in boats to the people of Sarasota,” said Cannons Marina owner David Miller in a prepared statement.

+ Dry Dock reopens for season
Dry Dock Waterfront Grill, 412 Gulf of Mexico Drive, reopened Friday, Oct. 11.
The restaurant will be open for dinner only from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday, through Nov. 1.

+ Taiwanese USF students take a field trip to visit Sandbar and Pine Avenue
Students from the Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism in Taiwan recently toured the Sandbar and Pine Avenue on Anna Maria.

The students are participating in a 10-month international student certificate program for the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee’s College of Hospitality and Technology Leadership. As part of the program, students take field trips to businesses, farms and locations that allow them to apply the lessons of the classroom to real-world experiences.

The tour focused on the Pine Avenue Merchants Association’s recently implemented Merchants Community Gardens Project, an effort in which organic vegetables are grown in an edible community garden.
