+ MAR appoints 2010 leadership
More than 100 Realtors, business partners and friends watched as the Manatee Association of REALTORS appointed its 2010 leadership Dec. 4 at River Strand at Heritage Harbour.

The new officers include: Cindy Greco, president, Wagner Realty; Angie Cegnar, president-elect, Keller Williams Realty; Leslie Wells, vice president, Leslie Wells Realty; Lee Forbes, secretary, Keller Williams Realty; and Deeana Atkinson, treasurer, Coldwell Banker.

The organization’s new directors include: Greg Owens, Keller Williams on the Water; Ken Clanton, Wagner Realty; Gloria Weed, Michael Saunders & Company; Geri Kenyon, Kenyon Real Estate; Robert Grant, All Brokers Realty; Sharone Martinelli, Wagner Realty; and Barry Grooms, past president, ReMAX Alliance Group.

+ Tivoli Homes launches Callista Village
Tivoli Homes announced this week the opening of a new green-certified community, The Cottages of Callista Village near Longwood Run and University Park Country Club. The community features 21 cottage-style, single-family homes built to Florida Green Building Coalition standards.

All homes come with energy-saving, eco-friendly features such as Icynene spray foam insulation creating a sealed attic, insulated low-e impact rated windows from PGT, solar hot water system, energy-efficient metal roof and Energy Star appliances.

“There is a strong market for this type of home that creates not only less impact on the environment, but saves homeowners significant dollars in energy costs for as long as they own their home,” said Gary Johnson, president of Tivoli Homes.

The exteriors of the homes are concrete block faced with James Hardie fiber cement siding in lieu of the usual stucco. All cottage homes will have a front porch as well as a rear screened lanai.

The recently opened model, located at 4242 Callista Lane in Longwood Run, is a 2,670-square-foot home with two bedrooms, two baths, a den, an eat-in kitchen, a large great room and a two-car garage. Prices range from $250,000 to $300,000.
