+ Community Bank names new president
Community Bank of Manatee last week announced Kathryn Pemble as its president and chief operating officer. 

In addition to being responsible for all bank operations, she will work with CEO and Chairman William H. Sedgeman Jr. and the bank’s board in developing its long-term strategic plans. Pemble, a 23-year banking veteran in the Tampa Bay area, also will become a member of Community Bank’s board of directors.

Prior to joining Community Bank of Manatee, Pemble was with Florida Bank (previously know as Bank of St. Petersburg) in Tampa. During her tenure there, she held the positions of chief operating officer, president and chief executive of the bank.  Most recently, she held the position of chief credit officer for the bank and holding company, Florida Bank Group Inc.

A native Floridian, Pemble graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
Community Bank is a local, independent bank serving the Tampa Bay region with five branches in Manatee and Hillsborough counties and $250 million in assets as of June 30, 2010. It operates two East County locations: 2025 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. and 6000 S.R. 70 E.

+ NBA senior VP to speak at Ranch
Pat Williams, senior vice president for the Orlando Magic, will speak at the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance’s Breakfast of Champions, 7:30-9 a.m., Aug. 11, at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club, 7650 Legacy Blvd.

Williams is one of America’s top motivational, inspirational and humorous speakers. He has addressed thousands of executives in organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to universities and nonprofits. Williams is also the author of more than 55 books; His most recent is “Extreme Dreams Depend on Teams.

+ HomeBanc announces new VP, branch manager
Tampa-based HomeBancorp Inc. has named Charles J. Coury as vice president, mortgage branch manager for HomeBanc. Coury is based in HomeBanc’s East County office, located at 6230 University Parkway, Suite 101. 

Coury brings to HomeBanc 27 years of experience. His is a former board chair for the United Way of Manatee County.

HomeBanc is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tampa-based HomeBancorp Inc., with seven retail offices in Lakewood Ranch, Lake Mary Belleair Bluffs, Clearwater and Tampa.
