+ Simonds selected for leadership institute
Warren G. Simonds, vice president and CMO for Lakewood Ranch-based Willis A. Smith Construction Inc., was selected to participate in the 2010 Class of the Gulf Coast Leadership Institute.

The Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice has selected 27 leaders from across the region to participate in this program. The group currently is taking part in a three-month leadership development program in Venice led by the nationally recognized Fanning Institute of the University of Georgia. In exchange for their training, participants have committed to use their newly acquired skills for the long-term benefit of the community.

Leadership institute participants will meet for seven sessions between May and July. Upon graduating from the institute, they will join 54 alumni who participated in the first two classes of Gulf Coast Leadership Institute.
