+ Intercoastal Medical Group to open new office
An entity led by family practitioner Dr. John Steel, of Intercoastal Medical Group, has purchased 2.9 acres north of State Road 70 in Lakewood Ranch for $1.85 million.

Fred M. Starling Inc. will serve as development manager/general contractor to develop a 25,000-square-foot, two-story medical office building. The building will feature physician offices, exam rooms, diagnostic and imaging equipment, labs and physical therapy facilities.

Intercoastal Medical Group is scheduled to occupy the building in January. The group will relocate its office from its current location, a leased 8,000-square-foot building at 8340 Lakewood Ranch Blvd.

Fred Starling, president and CEO of the Starling Group, also negotiated the purchase of the site with the seller, an affiliate of Schroeder-Manatee Ranch. 

“(What was attractive about that site) was the exposure and visibility at that location and the amount of residential growth that’s planned in that area over the next five to 10 years,” he says.

Intercoastal Medical Group is a professional association of more than 65 physicians. It currently has seven locations in Sarasota and Manatee counties.

+ RE/MAX makes global push, hires global leader
In an effort to expand its reach internationally, RE/MAX Platinum Realty has opened a Global New Homes division.

The division will provide international sales support to builders and developers.

“We will leverage the global RE/MAX broker network to develop our own relationships and create a proprietary network of brokers who will bring international clients to RE/MAX Platinum Realty,” said Bryan Guentner, RE/MAX Platinum owner.

Guentner says RE/MAX has a global reach of more than 85 countries, and it recently announced its expansion into China.

RE/MAX plans to market new properties through networking, international trade shows and active company sales efforts.  

Teresa Witte, who brings more than 20 years of experience in new homes sales and management, will manage the new division.

She will be based out of the RE/MAX office at 8215 Natures Way, in Lakewood Ranch.
