LAKEWOOD RANCH
The volunteers who run Lakewood Ranch’s free lending library would like to remind Ranch residents that the library is always accepting paperback and hardcover book donations.

The library, housed at Lakewood Ranch Town Hall, 8175 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., features three categories — mystery, romance and other fiction. Those wishing to check out books may take as many as they like and return them to the bin inside Town Hall.

Come and enjoy your library.

RIVER CLUB
Braden River Elementary School will celebrate its fifth-graders during its annual Fifth Grade Recognition Ceremony at 9 a.m., May 28, at Woodland, The Community Church, 9607 S.R. 70 E.
The ceremony will include an original video of experiences of these students at Braden River Elementary, recognition awards, speakers and more.
Parents and friends are invited to attend and help the fifth-graders celebrate the conclusion of elementary school. 

LAKEWOOD RANCH
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine —Bradenton will celebrate 161 graduates during its commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2009 at 2 p.m., June 7, at the Manatee Convention & Civic Center, 1 Haben Blvd., Palmetto.

LECOM has invited the president of the American Osteopathic Association to deliver the commencement address. Dr. Carlo J. DiMarco is a board certified osteopathic ophthalmologist in Erie, Pa. DiMarco is a professor and regional dean of clinical medicine at LECOM in Erie. He also serves as the director of the ophthalmology residency program at Millcreek Community Hospital. The college is proud to present the honorary doctor of science degree to DiMarco for his accomplishments.

Upon graduation, LECOM graduates go on to osteopathic internships through the American Osteopathic Association intern match program or choose a medical specialty internship and residency program.
