Bulldogs teams earn victories

The East Manatee Bulldogs Mitey Mite, Pee Wee and Junior Midget and Midget teams all earned victories Sept. 1.

The Mitey Mite team defeated the Hardee Wildcats 39-7. Ethan Bement returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and also added touchdown runs of 70 and 65 yards to lead the way offensively for the Bulldogs. Kevin Miller scored an 80-yard touchdown run and Josiah Lozada added a 75-yard touchdown run. Justin Shofter and had an interception and Carson Goda had an interception return for a touchdown to lead the way defensively. Patrick O’Keefe recorded seven tackles and a fumble recovery.

The Bulldogs Pee Wee team improved to 2-0 with a 40-7 victory over the Hardee Wildcats.

Mason Fischer led the way offensively with touchdown runs of 55 and 40 yards. He also threw a 50-yard touchdown to wide receiver Kieren Collins. Amari Pitts and Troy Jefferson each added a 50-yard touchdown run.

"Our offensive line continues to open up some nice holes for all of our backs," EMB Pee Wee coach Bill Jula said. "And not to be overshadowed is our defense. Those guys still haven't given up a touchdown. Linebackers Ryan Brown and Charlie George were in on a lot of tackles today."

The Bulldogs Junior Midget squad posted a 46-0 shutout of the Hardee Wildcats.

Jernard Porter Jr. scored a 46-yard touchdown run. Noah Ben-ghuzzi followed with a 5-yard touchdown run and Keyon Fordham added touchdown runs of 5 and 30 yards. Hunter Barnes returned a punt 48 yards for a score and Chase Tench returned a kickoff 62 yards for a touchdown. Cody Staton kicked five two-point conversions.

Cole Haddad, Matthew Strauss and Chase Knopf led the way defensively, allowing just one first down.

The East Manatee Midget squad shut out the South Shore Longhorns 33-0.
