Longboat Key Mayor Jim Brown and Vice Mayor David Brenner kept their seats at the March 26 commission statutory meeting. The commission unanimously voted to keep both Brown and Brenner in place, giving both commissioners another year in their positions.

Brown became the District 4 commissioner in 2009 after running unopposed and became vice mayor in 2010 and mayor in 2011. Brenner won the District 3 seat in 2010 in a race against incumbent Commissioner Peter O’Connor. He became vice mayor last year and last week won a second term in his commission seat after defeating challenger Ray Rajewski by 90 votes.
