FY2012/2013 budget

Lakewood Ranch Community Development District 6 supervisors unanimously adopted a $729,028 operating budget for fiscal year 2012/2013, during a meeting Aug. 29, at Lakewood Ranch Town Hall.

+ ODA teacher offers
early childhood music class

The Out-of-Door Academy teacher Nicole Porrello earned received the 2012 Musikgarten Achievement Award this summer, which signifies full certification for the Musikgarten early childhood music program. Porrello, a middle- and high-school music and chorus teacher will begin teaching a family music class for babies and toddlers at ODA’s Uihlein Campus in Lakewood Ranch starting at 10 a.m. Sept. 8.

+ Authorities seeking
information in hit-and-run

A Bradenton resident suffered no injuries during a hit-and-run crash that occurred Wednesday, Aug. 29, on State Road 70, just west of Lorraine Road.

A Florida Highway Patrol report states 41-year-old Wade Smith was driving his 2006 Toyota when an SUV failed to stop and rear-ended Smith’s vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a dark blue American-made SUV, with damage to the front. The driver is described as a white female with long blond or gray hair.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has knowledge of the driver should contact Florida Highway Patrol investigator Trooper Loretta Kiner, at 239-938-1800.

The Central West Coast Chapter of Florida Public Relations Association has installed its new board of directors.

The installation ceremony, led by FPRA State President Jeff Nall, was held Aug. 21, at the Polo Grill and Bar.
