A retired computer engineer by trade, GreyHawk Landing’s Tony Bryan always has had an interest in video and photography.

He now is putting those skills to use by video recording GreyHawk Landing Community Development District meetings and posting them to the community’s Facebook page, where more than 600 residents can view them at their convenience.

“I did video for a decade,” Bryan said. “For a while after I retired, I did wedding videography.”

Residents with small children, in particular, have complained in the past at CDD meetings that the 6 p.m. start time for meetings is difficult to make. Residents began streaming meetings live via Facebook, until Bryan assumed the responsibility, as he did for the Sept. 28 board meeting.

Bryan said the feedback has been positive, although he has no way to tell how many people are watching.

“I love it,” said Lorna Smith. “It’s great for young families.”

Bob Bianchi said the video creates a better record.

“It changes the complexion of the meetings when (supervisors) know they are being watched,” Bianchi said. “It’s going to increase communication in the community.”
