Braden River wins 9/10 crown

Braden River Little League’s 9-and 10-year-old All-Star team defeated Lakewood Ranch Little League 9-8 to capture the District 26 tournament July 6 at G.T. Bray.

Braden River scored eight runs in the fifth inning and withstood Lakewood Ranch’s last-inning comeback.

Austin Brinling, Kaleb Quinones and Max Runde all notched two hits for Braden River. Caleb Whitson, Jason Hauck and Josiah Clark, along with Runde, all hit doubles.

Charlie George went 3-for-4 and Harrison Thiel went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead the way for Lakewood Ranch at the plate.

With the win, Braden River will now advance to the Section IV tournament July 15 in Haines City.
