Siesta Key’s Big Water Fish Market, opened in November 2011, recently expanded to offer more services, including a full lunch menu.

Previously operating exclusively as a fish market with a few sandwich offerings, owner has Scott Dolan added picnic table seating; hired chef Jack Hodges; and purchased a high-pressure seafood steamer to offer dine-in or takeout steam pots.

Dolan describes the menu as casual dining, and items include fish sandwiches tacos and salads, using local seafood.

“When we first opened, almost two years ago, we decided to let our customers decide what direction we’d go in,” says Dolan. “They commented that our sandwiches were the best and freshest they’d had, and so we decided to keep expanding our menu. It’s been a gradual process, but it’s now become a big part of our business.”

The market is located at 6641 Midnight Pass Road, Siesta Key and online at bigwaterseafood.com.
