After 18 years on Longboat Key, Beverly Peterman and her husband, Ira, are starting a new chapter: They’re moving back to Connecticut to be near family.

The couple has been active in many local organizations, especially at Temple Beth Israel. Beverly was on the board of the Education Center of Longboat Key and Sarasota Ballet and started a monthly book club on the Key.

To honor her, the book club held a special lunch Tuesday, Dec. 14. Members discussed Herman Koch’s

“The Dinner” over lunch at Café L’Europe on St. Armands Circle.

“We plan to continue what Beverly started,” said Susan Landau, a member of the book club.
