Beautification project begins

The Florida Department of Transportation will begin the welcome sign and entryway replacement project this week on Longboat Key.

FDOT granted final approval for construction to begin on the project last week. The project is expected to be complete by late July 2010.

This project is funded through federal stimulus project grant. The town received $500,000 through the grant available for Gulf of Mexico Drive beautification.
