Autumn Senior Living broke ground Thursday, June 20, at its new Sarasota location, at 3251 Proctor Road. The estimated $65 million senior-living center began the first of its two stages of construction.

The first phase includes plans for 80 residences dedicated to providing care for patients with memory needs, and the second phase, estimated to be completed in 2015, includes plans to expand the campus to include more independent living.

The groundbreaking ceremony began with a mimosa toast event, to celebrate the start of construction.
