Arrest made in BB&T Bank robbery

Manatee County Sheriff's Office detectives have arrested Tony Nealy, 22, of Sarasota, in connection with Monday's robbery at BB&T Bank, 5375 University Parkway.

According to witnesses, two suspects entered the bank, jumped over the counter and demanded money. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank on foot.

Nealy was the taller suspect wearing a yellow ski-type hat.

Nealy was developed as a suspect from evidence collected at the scene. A warrant for armed robbery was obtained and Nealy was arrested in Sarasota late Thursday night. He was booked into the Sarasota County Jail.
