Sports Page owner Kenny Barr got a history refresher last week when he read the “Longboat Lore” item about Shenkel’s restaurant, which his mother, Edith Barr Dunn, owned, closing April 24, 1994.

He thought it was ironic because the demolition of the old Sports Page Bar & Grille building began Wednesday, April 24. The good news: The Sports Page will be back, but at a new location within four to six months.
