American Education Week kicks off

American Education Week will be observed this week in area schools, Nov. 18 to Nov. 22,  to show support and celebratepublic education and educators,

A local show of support, Freedom Elementary's Parent-Teacher Organization will be providing dessert for its staff to say thank you, along with a luncheon on Friday for faculty to conclude the celebratory week.

The National Education Association outlines the week with activities that celebrate educators and those in teacher-support roles, including substitute teachers. In addition, community officials will have the opportunity to play instructor, as they experience what teachers do on a day-today.
