Longboat Island Chapel’s Aging in Paradise Resource Center recently received a $10,000 platinum lead sponsorship from Sarasota Bay Club, a luxury retirement community.

Steve Roskamp, partner in Freedom Senior Management, which manages the Sarasota Bay Club, said in a news release that he “believes it’s important to help organizations that provide ongoing education and support services focused on wellness, caregiving, socialization, memory enhancement, mobility and assisting with age-related transitions.”

The Aging in Paradise Resource Center is not a health-care facility, however, it aims to serve as a liaison between individuals facing age-related issues and the organizations and services available for everything from health problems and memory loss to financial planning.

The concept came about approximately seven years ago as the result of aging issues that many chapel members saw within their congregation.

All programs take place on the second floor of Longboat Island Chapel, 6200 Gulf of Mexico Drive, which is accessible by elevator.
