Nick’s Pick

Selby Gallery I and II exhibits
The visual arts can assume a personal and intimate space in people’s lives. Two exhibits opening at the Ringling College of Art and Design reflect the quiet nature art can have on individual lives. In Selby Gallery I “Objects to Be Contemplated” features a vast array of works of various mediums by several different artists that late Selby Gallery Director Kevin Dean chose for the exhibit. The exhibit is designed to make the viewer linger and engage in considerable contemplation.

And in the conjoining Selby Gallery II there will be five paintings by the renowned German expressionist painter Gabriele Münter. The set of stunning and remarkable work that spans Münter’s career were a recent gift of more than $2.5 million to the college by Dr. Ronald and Harold Kendall. Both exhibits run until April 4.
