2018 Dick Vitale Gala tickets sold out

Tickets for the 2018 Dick Vitale Gala, to be held May 11 at the Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota, are officially sold out, but that doesn't mean Vitale is done raising money for pediatric cancer research.

People interested in donating and becoming "part of the team," Vitale said, can visit dickvitalegala.org.

"I'm optimistic that we're going to hit $3.5 million by the end of the night," Vitale said. 

That number would bring the gala's total amount raised to $25 million over its 13-year history. 

This year's gala will honor University of Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh, Florida State University basketball coach Leonard Hamilton and ESPN television host Mike Greenberg. Included in the more than 850 guests attending will be all Final Four men's basketball coaches from this year's NCAA Tournament and basketball legends David Robinson and Grant Hill. 

ESPN reporter Holly Rowe and former ESPN broadcaster Chris Berman will be presented with the Spirit of Jimmy V Award at the Gala as well.
