About Heidi Kurpiela
I’m Heidi Kurpiela, The Observer’s A&E Editor. Here are a few things you should know about me before you read my blog: I’m a lousy singer and an OK dancer. I was once cast as a townsperson in my high school’s musical production of “Cinderella,” in which I delivered one line with great success. Other than superb impersonation skills, my flair for entertainment is limited to playing the clarinet and telling stories.
I grew up in rural Western New York; where my pastimes included 4- wheeling, snowmobiling, camping and playing hide-and-go seek in the cornfields behind my house. I graduated from Buffalo State College in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in art history.
I live in a 1940s bungalow in St. Petersburg with my husband Joe and our asthmatic pug, Cubbie.
