Since opening last year, The Starlite Room has become a gathering place for socialites nostalgic for the swanky cocktail lounge-vibe of the ’60s (Whether they were actually around then is another story).

But if you're looking for a classic cocktail served up in "Mad Men" fashion, look no further. The pink squirrel, the Manhattan, the martini — it's all there, and it's all made the old-fashioned way.

We stopped in to check out a staple of any good bartender's repertoire: the sidecar.

"The traditional sidecar is one of those classic drinks that every bartender should know how to make," say bartender Kristin Burnett Knight. "It can make or break the bar. We strive to create a traditional vibe, and the sidecar is one of those simple four-ingredient cocktails that brings that spirit to life."
